You know, it’s funny how something that was meant to bring us all together can sometimes make us feel even more disconnected from each other.
For instance, have you ever tried to take a break from social media, only to find yourself mindlessly scrolling through it again five minutes later? It’s like trying to quit smoking, except instead of nicotine, we’re addicted to pictures of people’s food and videos of cats.
And speaking of cats, what’s the deal with all these Instagram influencers? Do they really think we’re all just dying to buy the latest teeth whitening kit they’re promoting? Look, I don’t care how many followers you have, if you’re using your platform to sell me something, you’re not an influencer, you’re a salesperson.
But it’s not just the influencers who are making us all crazy. Social media can be a breeding ground for arguments and misunderstandings. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate with someone online, only to realize later that you don’t even know what they look like in real life? It’s like yelling at a stranger in a crowded room.
And let’s not forget about the pressure to constantly document everything for social media. What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever done for the sake of a good Instagram photo? I once stood on a table in a crowded restaurant just to get the perfect shot of my avocado toast. And then I realized, I’m not even sure if I like avocado toast!
But it’s not all bad, right? I mean, where else can you find videos of cute animals doing funny things? TikTok, that’s where. Can we all agree that the best part of TikTok is the cute animal videos? I mean, forget the dance challenges, I just want to see a puppy playing the piano.
And finally, have you ever thought about what our lives would be like without technology and social media? Would we all just be sitting around talking to each other like in the olden days? It’s a scary thought, but maybe it’s not such a bad idea to unplug every now and then and reconnect with the people around us.
Thanks for reading.
